Below are some pictures from our recent photo shoot at Hotel Icon. We were privileged to have had The Presidential Penthouse Suite to have as our studio that night and I couldn’t have asked for a better location! I literally had the entire Downtown Houston skyline at my beckon call! While this was a wonderful and amazing session, and I cannot express how much I appreciate the outpouring of support that I have received from the pictures, I did get some questions about the nature of the images that I feel I should touch on. As an artist, I believe it is important to try different things and to explore different aspects of creativity…sometimes this means allowing your models to play and let them take on their characters and see what happens. Every shoot is a learning experience, and like every other one that has occurred before this and like the ones that will follow, I have, did, and will continue to learn and grown as an artist and as an expressionist. It is never my intent to push my agenda upon others, primarily because I create on an aesthetic and personal level. I create for myself. I express what I need to express at the time that I need to express it. This being said, I prefer to be tasteful rather than obscene and subtle nuances rather than blatant in your face grotesque is more my style…unless we’re talking kitschy rubber ducky armies! To make a long story short, (since I tend to be long winded) artists need to grow and change (at least in learning new things) or else risk growing stale. Art = Expression
